(Robert^6 Van Vickle, Evert^5 Van Wicklen, Frederick^4, Evert^3, Gerrit^2, Jentie^1 Jeppes), b. 1813, Butler Co., Ohio and died 1843 in Darke Co., Ohio at age 29. (He more likely died abt 1848 given that he had a child born in 1847.) He m. Elizabeth Grissom (b. 8 January 1818, d. 1 June 1884 at age 66-4-24 in Rose Hill, Darke Co., OH) on 5 October 1834, Butler County, Ohio. They had at least four children.

Darke County, Ohio Cemetery Inscriptions Volume V by Short and Bowers for New Rose Hill Cemetery, Ohio State Rte. 49, Mississinawa Twp, Ohio as reported in Brian Christensen's Van Vickle Research, 1982-2000 ...lists Robert Van Vickle, d. 8-7-1943 at age 25 y 11m 16d. The date of 1843 is discrepant with what seems necessary if Robert^7 is to be the father of Alfred, Frederic and John above.

Children: Ephraim^8 Van Vickle, b. abt 1835 (1840 Census), Ohio. He m. Francina Peters on 18 March 1863, Darke Co., Ohio; Alfred^8 B. Van Vickle, b. 3 June 1845, DarkeCo., Ohio and d. 18 November 1928, Belding, Michigan. He m. Lucretia M. Hahn (b. 1844, Darke, OH) in 1864; Frederic^8 Van Vickle, b. 1846, Ohio. He m. Lucretia M. and they had a daughter, Francine J. (b. abt. 1866); John^8 Grissom Van Vickle, b. 1847, Ohio. He m. Amanda Light on 8 March 1874. They had a son, Gilford, b. 1877, a dau. Sariah A. (b. 1879) and a son Ray (b. after 1880). Gilford m. Frances C. Kreider on 24 Dec. 1902. Sariah ("Sallie") m. Robert DeBolt on 12 September 1901. Ray m. Ethel Adkins on 19 November 1908.
